Dear Resident of Wyndham Council,

My name is Sayeed Aslam a resident of Harrison ward in Wyndham council since 2013.

I believe the position of councillor is not just about holding a position in public office, instead it comes with a huge responsibility and the most primary of the responsibility is to listen, understand and comprehend the vision that we all have collectively towards building our communities, strengthening the processes and build the council that we all desire.

We all might not speak the same language or believe in the same concepts, but we all share the same dreams & aspirations. We might not share the same origins but face the same challenges on a day to day basis, which we are all willing to improve and make a difference in our own individual capacities.

The purpose of conducting this survey is to get a grass root level understanding of what are the real issues that concern most of us, what are the most pressing issues and need immediate attention and what are the issues that can be put in the back bench to address in the long term.

I strongly believe that the contesting candidate should have an in depth understanding of this and work towards achieving them. This is a genuine effort to consult and speak to the people for whom it really matters.

Do you want to make a real difference by voting in the council elections this October 2020 or want to just cast your vote for another election and blame the council that they haven’t done enough.

If we are not able to communicate effectively & efficiently to the prospective people who will be representing us in the council what they need to focus and work on then the ownness lies on us as a voter and we will be responsible for what they are delivering while they are in the public office representing us.

Of recently we have been seeing trend of contestants flooding to contest for the local council elections with sky high promises & very poor previous performance track record or minimal understanding of what is really required at the grass route level.

This survey should give them a realistic expectation that the community has from them which is backed by credible data & strong recommendations from the community.

Please refer to my page Issues & Solutions to get an understanding on

  • What is the current situation of the Issue
  • What is my take on the issue
  • What is the strategy that I will work on to find realistic solutions
  • What could be the expected results.
  • How can you contribute to make a difference in your own individual capacity

If you believe that

  • The approach I have taken is appealing to you as a voter in Wyndham council
  • I stand for the very purpose of serving the residents of Wyndham council
  • I have got the dedication and the skills to serve you

Please shoot me an email and this will boost my confidence and motivate me to do better.

I will make the decision of nominating myself for the council elections only based on the feedback that I get from the community.

So don’t be hesitant or lazy to voice your opinion.
